JAPANESE VERSION

Stunningly beautiful 2D fighter set in the mid-1800s Bakumatsu period, with touches of Western influence invading an isolationist Japan. Allegedly a spiritual successor to the Samurai Shodown series, its tone is more serious and less wacky. Color palettes are fantastic and evocative. The falling leaves level is some of the best pixel art I've ever seen.
