Description |
US VERSION Apparently featuring Patrick Swayze sending Terry Bogard screaming to his death from aboard a...ferris wheel on the cover, this is the first in the long-running Fatal Fury franchise. Developed by Takashi Nishiyama, creator of the original (and execrable) Street Fighter, this game is thankfully much, much better. Featuring only three playable characters (Terry, his brother Andy, and their friend Joe Higashi), it introduces many other mainstays for SNK fighters to come. Gameplay-wise, it stands apart from rival Capcom's Street Fighter series: only two attack buttons and a throw, as well as the ability to shift between planes to get the drop on an opponent. Unique to this first version is that when a second player joins, they will actually fight CO-OPERATIVELY against the current enemy before going head-to-head. This is such a cool experience that it's surprising it was never picked up for any later games. |
