| CONVERSION FROM ARCADE MVS TO HOME AES If there were a list of Neo Geo carts to take with you to a desert island, this game would be on it. How Data East, a company that regularly put out mediocre games at best, stumbled upon this gem is anyone's guess. It's a one-on-one affair, very similar to Pong, in that at its core, the objective is to get an object past your opponent and into a goal. In this case, it's a frisbee, and players are able move, slide, and block the disc. When returning it, the player can add spin...and if you do it right, you can learn to finesse the disc with half- and quarter-circle motions. Blocking the disc gives you the chance to power up for a mega throw, or screw with the opponent by giving a dead lob. There are 6 characters and 6 courts; each has a unique feel and offers their own strengths and weaknesses. Pro Tip: Use DIP settings or the UniBIOS to up match times to 99 seconds. This leads to a much better multiplayer experience. |
